Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Main Street Lobby, Inc. ("Main Street Lobby," "we," "us," or "our") is a national, non-partisan 501(c)(4) social welfare organization incorporated in Georgia that organizes everyday Americans into a collective voice on the issues our members prioritize. These Terms govern your use of www.mainstreetlobby.com and your membership. By creating an account or joining, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms. Some features or programs may have supplemental terms, which we will present to you when you first use them; supplemental terms are part of these Terms and control for that feature if there is a conflict.

2. Eligibility and your account

Membership is open to United States residents who are 18 or older. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and accept responsibility for activity under your account. One membership per person; memberships are personal and non-transferable.

3. Membership, dues, and cancellation

Membership is billed as an automatically renewing annual subscription, processed by Stripe, at the annual rate disclosed when you join and shown in your billing portal (currently $4.99 per year). Your membership renews each year until you cancel, and we will remind you before each annual renewal. You can cancel anytime through the billing portal; cancellation stops future renewals and your membership remains active through the end of the paid period. We may change dues for future renewal periods; if the rate changes, we will give you advance notice before your next renewal at the new rate, and you can cancel before it takes effect. Except where required by law — or where we terminate your membership without cause (see Section 5) — dues are non-refundable. Dues and contributions to Main Street Lobby are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions.

4. What membership is — and is not

Membership gives you a voice in member polling, access to member-only content such as aggregate priority insights, and the ability to take part in coordinated advocacy actions, as offered from time to time. The program will evolve: we may add, change, or retire features, content, and benefits as the organization grows. Main Street Lobby is member-driven but professionally operated: we decide how to convert member input into specific advocacy, and we make no guarantee of any legislative or policy outcome. Membership under these Terms is a contractual program relationship — it does not make you a member of the corporation under Georgia law and confers no voting, inspection, or governance rights. Membership does not create an agency, employment, or partnership relationship, and no member speaks for Main Street Lobby without written authorization.

5. Non-partisanship and acceptable use

Main Street Lobby is non-partisan and issue-focused. You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to access other members' data, submitting false information, creating multiple accounts to distort polling, interfering with the site's operation, or using our systems for unlawful purposes. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. We may also terminate a membership without cause; if we do, we will refund the current year's dues.

6. Text messages and communications

If you opt in, we send recurring automated text messages about member polls, actions, impact updates, and important membership notices. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of membership. We also send transactional emails (receipts, sign-in links, account notices) necessary to operate your membership. As a member, you will also receive advocacy updates and organizational news by email; you can opt out of those at any time using the unsubscribe link in every such message.

7. Member content and surveys

When you answer polls or surveys, you grant Main Street Lobby the right to use your responses in anonymized, aggregate form to set priorities, conduct advocacy, and publish collective results. Individual responses are never published or displayed to other members or the public — unless you expressly choose to share something through a feature we clearly label that way. If a feature lets you share content publicly and you choose to use it, you grant us a non-exclusive license to host and display that content as the feature describes; you can stop sharing at any time through the feature. 8. Intellectual property

The Main Street Lobby name, logo, site design, and content are owned by us or our licensors. You may share our public materials for personal, non-commercial purposes with attribution; all other rights are reserved.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and Main Street Lobby's total liability for any claim relating to the service or these Terms is limited to the amount of dues you paid in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Governing law, changes, and general terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update these Terms; if we make a material change, we will announce it by email and/or a prominent notice on the site before it takes effect, and we will update the "last updated" date. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance. We may assign these Terms in connection with a reorganization, merger, or transfer of the organization's operations; they bind and benefit any successor. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect, and our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. Sections 7, 8, 9, and 10 survive cancellation or termination of your membership. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any supplemental terms are the entire agreement between you and Main Street Lobby about the service.
